Worship in Amalfi cathedral
Travel photography throws many challenges at the photographer and in this case I wanted to capture the essence of the cathedral without using flash. In my opinion using flash in sacred places such as this is a definite no no - and in any case its annoying for those around you, ruins the ambience and fails to capture the atmosphere. So in this instance I cranked my camera up to 1600 ISO and opted for an aperture of f4.5 1/60th of a second.
These kinds of shots also pose another challenge and that is photographing someone without them noticing unless of course your travel companion is willing to step in and play model!
