I spent a very enjoyable evening in Winchester last night to photograph a local Hampshire band called “Mavis Grind”. MG consists of band members - Pete Beckley, Dave Evans, Francis Tidy and Steve Mayes and they come from the village of Broughton in Hampshire.
I was highly impressed with their performance and they quite clearly went down well with the crowd in the Pub too and the place was packed.

Autumn is really beginning to kick in now, the days are getting shorter and things are changing colour already. Its been a very grey day today so didn’t get much photography in other than this shot taken in the woods of the bracken thats starting to go brown!
I have today written 2 articles. One for “Freelance Photography Made Easy (FPME)” and the other for a case-study to be featured as part of a bigger article that’s going to appear in “Professional Photographer”. The former is about some of my outdoor photography and the latter about my concert work.
More soon on publication dates etc…
I am planning a new project (entitled “A Year in Hampshire”) that will be dedicated to Hampshire over the course of 1 year. I am interested in hearing about wonderful places, people, traditions, annual events that really sum up Hampshire and truly reflect a year in this wonderful county. If you have any suggestions, please write a comment on this post and I will respond! Shall tell you more about this project soon and it will be serialized within this blog throughout its duration.
Professional Chefs are a lucky bunch, they get all of the recognition under the sun with the plethora of TV shows dedicated to their artform nowadays. What about us photographers though?

How bizarre just seen Martin featured on BBC’s South Today. I visited them about 3 years ago whilst doing the photography for a feature for The Countryman magazine. I drove past Martin a little while back and wondered how they were getting on. I have just found out that they are doing very well indeed for their community. I would love to go back and see for myself in the near future.
