Its definitely Autumn as we went chestnut picking yesterday and our pickings made some fine subjects for my kitchen based studio. The best place being right under the window for natural light, as I prefer that to the artificial variety.
I found a kitchen tray, 2 pieces of black card and placed my subjects on one piece of card, I used the other as a light absorber. “Light absorber” you ask? Well if you place a piece of black card next to a subject it helps reduce harsh highlights, as it absorbs the light rather than reflects it.
Placing everything on a kitchen tray makes life a little bit easier as you can slide it around without having to alter focus too much.
Camera kit used - Nikon D200, Tamron 90mm lens and a tripod.
