Dorney Wetlands
One of my regular haunts currently is Dorney Wetlands, as right now its a hotbed of wildlife activity, if you were to visit it today you will see:
- Lapwing
- Golden Plover
- Kestrel (if you hang around long enough)
- Cormorant
- Gadwall
- Teal
- Tufted Duck
- and more…
You can see hundreds of Golden Plover at the moment and a huge number of Lapwing. I have seen some other species around such as Stonechat, Egyptian and Greylag Geese. In the past few days, there have been redwing around too. Well worth a visit if you are a keen naturalist!

Great Bustards once roamed the UK until persecution rendered them extinct. Through an extensive reintroduction programme, they are once again back in Wessex!
