Studio Day #1

by NickL on February 21, 2010

in Uncategorized

We all had great fun yesterday during our first studio day of the year. We had 4 sittings in total each lasting for an hour. The venue for the event was at Roberts Hall Scout Hut in Priory Street Farnborough. The hut was brilliant as it’s spacious enough for our needs.

We are planning on running more studio days throughout the year and into the future. We have a number of options for future venues in and around Farnborough. I shall be announcing the next one as soon as I have more details. However if you would like to come along to the next session, please drop me an email so that I can put you on the list. I shall then get in touch once we have a series of dates for the year ahead.

We are looking for a decent number of people as each day starts as early as 9am and runs through till at least 5pm. You can book a half hour slot (ideal for couples) or an entire hour for a more intensive shoot (ideal for families).

Andrew and Diana Spiers with their daughter Daisy

Tina and I had a great time photographing the wedding of Andrew and Diana Spiers this past Saturday (6th February) at Wokingham Registry Office and Cantley House Hotel, Wokingham. The weather and light were lovely albeit freezing cold outside. I look forward to meeting up with them soon to go through their photographs.

As an aside we highly recommend Miltons Restaurant which is located within the Hotel grounds, their food is first class :-)

Having just woken up (well that was an hour ago), eating some breakfast, waking up with a nice strong cup of tea, I check my email and am delighted to read one from Fotomoto to notify me that today I am their featured artist. I only wrote about them the other day in my previous [...]

Retrospective: Capturing the ambience

January 19, 2010

Professional photography is tough these days, there is no denying that and none more so than in the world of live music. Hundreds of photographers are hungry for images of the current artistes and it becomes something of a lottery in making those much needed sales. This shot was taken with the intention of offering [...]

Retrospective: The Three Hussars

January 18, 2010

I have decided to spend a little time going through the archives and sharing some shots from previous years. This is one of my favourites from 2009 and was a fantastic event to cover, I can still vividly recall the thundering of the hooves charging past and the smell of gunpowder. It was a visual [...]

Stock Photography: The oddest things sell

January 17, 2010

I never for one minute considered the possibility that a missed delivery note left by my postman one day could sell for $145. However that is exactly what happened and has led me to gain an interesting insight into what sells best through stock agencies such as Alamy.
I have thousands of images with Alamy and [...]
