Please forgive me, I am playing with some different templates for my site. I love this one for example and trying it out on the site right now. The Themes Foundry have some really good designs on offer.

Media Library

This site is powered by the superb WordPress and at the heart of it all, is the Media Library. I have been mulling over the fact that it’s power could be better harnessed to facilitate image searches and sales from the public facing side of the site. Especially considering that images are imported complete with IPTC information. Searches can be carried out from the back end but not from the user’s side.

So far I have found one plugin called Media Library Gallery which can be inserted anywhere as a tag. It works well but needs some refinement to achieve what I have in mind. It displays a paginated set of results very much like an image library would.

Have you used a plugin that leverages the power of the Media Library? If so I am all ears!
