Changes are afoot
Ok I got bored of the old template, so I have revamped it once again with a new one! I think t now looks more stylish, more like a site to be honest!
There are new features:
- There is the “Featured” box that allows me to kind of pin down posts that I would like to remain visible for longer than just 24 hours, especially during this time whilst the blog is very active.
- Popular posts are given more prominence.
- The introduction of Podcasting
- The addition of some new Tags to cater for new types of content, as this website grows into something more adventurous and hopefully cutting edge!
- Above all the CSS styling is so much more professional looking and it all ties together very elegantly.
Pick of the Pix!
As the gallery grows, I thought I should pick out some of my favourite shots. Well the ones that I really enjoyed taking, as I love the places that I visited at the time. We have a mixture here that spans all the way from Farnborough to the Cinquentenaire in Brussels and a little bit of Capri, Italy.
Birds Gallery
Having a little bit of a re-shuffle in the “Nature” gallery and have created a sub-album called “Birds”. There are many more images to go in here and in time I shall make sure its all up-to-date.
Updating Galleries with archive material
Having rekindled the original gallery, I have added two new galleries to kick things off. First of all there is Guilfest 2008 which was shot back in July and the new Portfolio gallery which I will be picking my personal favourites to share with you all.
Old Gallery is back
I have had some problems with the WPG2 plugin but have fixed this. You will see that “Gallery” has reappeared in the navigation and also the images are back in the various historic posts of which there are now nearly 400 posted over the past couple of years. I have also updated various posts to add them to the “Hampshire” tag….

I have rekindled my Imagefile account, for the purposes of offering people an easier facility to buy their prints from, be it for an event I may have covered or if you wish to order some of my fine-art prints to decorate your walls. The advantage of this site, is that you will not need to register prior to making an order, plus better still, the prints orders are handled externally and I don’t have to process them. Turn around times are therefore much quicker!

How I use my Camera Phone
Ok I will get this bit out of the way first, I wouldn’t use a camera phone for producing publishable images, I just do not think that their quality is there just yet but in the case of some models, I am in fact, to be totally honest, quite impressed. I say that cautiously of course.
I can always recall someone telling me many years ago, when I was getting into photography that a good photographer, could get away with using anything to take a good picture. I believed it then and I still believe it now to hold true. I have come across some great work and have been stunned to learn for example, that it had been taken using a throw away camera from Boots.
Photoblog updated
Please hop over to http://www.nicklewis.net/photoblog to check out a little “Mini project” of mine that I hope will grow and grow in it’s own right. Photoblogs are generally updated once a day but I doubt I will be able to do that for the moment, so updates are going to be a little more infrequent for the moment.
I will later be adding a permanent link to it in the navigation bar at the top of this site, so you will be able to find it.
I have shared it with my Facebook, Friendfeed and Plaxo accounts, so if you are on there, you will get to see the updates come through hopefully.
